On Tuesday January 12, 2010, a catastrophic 7.0 earthquake occurred just 16 miles from Haitis capital Port-au-Prince. The devastation was unimaginable, yet even among the destruction the people of Haiti found new hope from the aid that the men and women of the U.S. military provided. Aiding millions of Haitians affected by the earthquake, the U.S. Military gave urgent aid to millions of Haitians affected by the earthquake. From offering crucial medical aid, donating millions of pounds of food and rations, to rebuilding the infrastructure of the country, all five branches of the U.S. Military skillfully did their part to help in a time of overwhelming need.
